Clay Triple Threat!

What it is. All three Samson's clays, together. Dead Sea Clay, Matte Finish Clay Pomade and The BenchLeg Clay with Activated Charcoal. Three really different experiences, all made by hand in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Who it's for. If you don't know which clay is yours yet, I would suggest starting here. Try all three and you'll know. It's also for the guy who wants a different look on different days: something that holds under a hat or a hard hat, something slick and combed, and something messy with a ton of texture. If you already use one of them, this is the easy way to try the other two.

How to use it. Same method for all three. Start with bone dry hair. Short hair takes one dime-sized scoop. Two or three inches on top takes two nickel-sized scoops. Coarse hair takes a little more. Emulsify it in your hands first, then work the sides and back, then the top. Finish with a fine-tooth comb for a tight look or your fingers for a messier one, and restyle it any time. The BenchLeg is tougher to break down, so warm it longer.

How it feels. The Dead Sea Clay is true matte, the most matte in the line. Your hair still feels like hair, and it holds all day without flaking or cracking. The Clay Pomade isn't stiff, has a natural finish a step up in shine from the Dead Sea Clay, and breaks down easy in your hands. The BenchLeg clumps and separates for a ton of texture with a matte finish.

What makes it different. Each jar does its own thing. The Dead Sea Clay holds with minerals: Dead Sea clay and Black Hawaiian Sea Salt on a wax-based hold that won't dry out your hair. The Clay Pomade is the heaviest hold we make, and you can still remold it hours later. The BenchLeg has activated charcoal for extra texture and the BenchLeg scent, bourbon, tobacco and patchouli, named for the legendary haint from Adam's family farm in the deep dark hills of Eastern Kentucky. All three made by hand in small batches. No backdoor chemist.

Why guys hesitate. Which one do I use? Start with the job. Hat or hard hat all day and you need to restyle when it comes off: Dead Sea Clay. A pompadour or a combed look that stays where you put it: Clay Pomade. Messy and textured: BenchLeg. And the Dead Sea Clay looks rough in the jar. That's the clay being honest.
